A pin keeps one cell of a fed rate card at your own rate. Every later price list or followed-card publish changes the other cells and leaves the pinned cell alone. Use a pin when you sell one rate below or above what the feed says, for example a promotional rate on one model, and you still want the rest of the card to follow the feed. Pins exist only on fed cards:
  • On a card with a price list source, you can pin any cell of the entry that the source prices.
  • On a follower, you can pin any cell or fee.
On a card that only people price, there is nothing to override. Change the cell in a draft phase instead. You set and clear pins in the dashboard, on the rate card. There is no public API for pins. Setting or clearing a pin needs the permission to manage rate cards.

Set a pin

Choose the cell, the rate and the date the pin starts. Alguna then publishes a new phase from that date with the pinned rate. On a card with followers, the followers get the phase too, in the same publish.
  • The date cannot be before the last phase that sets the entry. A pin holds from its date on, and a later phase already fixes the rates after it. Choose that phase’s date or a later one.
  • If a published phase already starts at that date, the pin publishes a correction of it.
  • If the card already has that rate at that date, Alguna publishes nothing.

Pins apply after the markup

A pin is the final rate of its cell.
  • On a fed card, a follower marks up the pinned rate, not the feed’s rate.
  • On a follower, the follower’s own pin wins over the copy from the followed card.
Example: The feed gives orion-pro in us on Token Standard $0.0000025 per token. You pin it at $0.0000028. Premium follows Standard at +10%, so Premium sells it at $0.0000028 × 1.1 = $0.00000308. The next push changes every other cell of Standard. orion-pro in us stays at $0.0000028 on Standard and $0.00000308 on Premium.

Editing a fed cell pins it

When a person publishes a draft on a fed card, Alguna compares each fed cell with what the feed gave it. On a follower, it compares with what the followed card and the markup give.
  • A cell whose rate differs is pinned at that rate.
  • A cell set back to the feed’s rate loses its pin.
  • Cells that a source held in a draft for review match the feed, so they never pin.
A draft on a follower cannot add or remove cells.

Clear a pin

Choose the cell and the date the pin ends. From that date, the cell returns to what the feed gives it, or on a follower to what the followed card and the markup give it. Alguna publishes a phase from that date, through the chain, like a pin does. Example: You clear the pin on orion-pro in us from 1 Dec 2026. The feed still gives $0.0000025, so from 1 Dec 2026 Standard charges $0.0000025 and Premium charges $0.00000275. The same date rules apply as for setting a pin. If the cell has no pin in force at the date, Alguna refuses the clear.

The pin list

The card’s pin list shows each pin with its rate, the date it starts, and what the feed says for the cell now. Use it to see how far each pin is from the feed. If the feed no longer gives the cell, the list says “No longer in the feed”.
